Privacy Policy

This policy describes how SRH Web Agency (“we”, “us”) handles information when a merchant installs and uses the Sale Countdown Shopify app.

Who this app is for

Sale Countdown is a merchant app. It is used inside Shopify Admin and on the merchant’s online store. Shoppers do not create accounts in this app.

Information we collect

We store only what is needed to run countdown widgets:

  • Shop identifiers such as the Shopify shop domain and app installation details.
  • Widget configuration such as timer names, dates, colors, placement, targeting rules, and selected product or variant IDs the merchant chooses.
  • Shopify session data created during install and login (access token, staff account fields Shopify provides for the session, and scopes).
  • Theme files we read with permission so we can show whether the app embed is active and help add widgets to the theme. The current access scope is read_themes.

We do not collect customer names, emails, phone numbers, payment details, or order history. Customer GDPR topics (customers/data_request and customers/redact) return an empty response because this app does not store customer personal data.

How we use information

  • Authenticate the merchant with Shopify session tokens.
  • Save and show countdown widgets in Admin.
  • Render timers on the storefront through the theme app extension and an HMAC-verified app proxy.
  • Write app-owned metafields so the storefront can display the latest bar and product labels.

We do not sell merchant or shopper data.

Where information is stored

Widget settings and Shopify sessions are stored in the app’s database on our hosting. Storefront display data may also be stored as app-owned metafields on the merchant’s Shopify shop.

Sharing

We share data with Shopify as required to operate an embedded app (OAuth, Admin API, webhooks, Billing API if charging is enabled, and the theme editor). We do not share data with other advertising or analytics networks.

Cookies and similar technology

The embedded admin uses Shopify App Bridge session tokens. The storefront timer may use browser storage only for dismiss or evergreen-timer state on that shopper’s device. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept while the app is installed. When Shopify sends app/uninstalled or shop/redact, we delete that shop’s timers and sessions.

Merchant rights

Merchants can uninstall the app at any time from Shopify Admin. After uninstall, stored shop data is removed as described above. For questions about this policy, contact us through the Sale Countdown listing on the Shopify App Store.

Children

The app is intended for Shopify merchants, not for children under 16.

Changes

We may update this page when the app’s data practices change. The effective date at the top will change when we do.

Test this page locally at /privacy. For the App Store listing, use your public HTTPS URL plus /privacy after you deploy.
